The Lavender LBWK GT-R: From Barnyard Build to Hot Wheels Legends

This is Annie's car. Annie (@itslifeofannie) has had her Liberty Walk widebody GT-R R35 since 2022, and it has been her project ever since. In June 2026 she told the story of a shop handing it back to her destroyed, and of opening her own shop, Spec'd Studios.

What came next: about two weeks in our shop, a color nobody had seen yet, an unveiling at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, a spot on 7-Eleven's life-sized Hot Wheels track, and a trip to SEMA.

01 · The car

A Liberty Walk GT-R with a rough past

Annie's GT-R R35 wears a Liberty Walk widebody kit, and it has been her project car since 2022. It has not had an easy life.

By this spring it was barnyard rough: mismatched red and black panels, an unfinished widebody and a bare white wing. In June she shared what happened on her channel. A shop had given the car back to her destroyed, and it is a big part of why she opened Spec'd Studios.

02 · Two weeks

Two weeks in our shop

The goal was the Houston stop of the Hot Wheels Legends Tour on July 11. The car was in our shop from June 22, and the lavender was finished by July 3.

The mechanical side and the body rebuild are Annie's. Our part was the finish.

03 · Our part

Full-body color PPF in an unreleased lavender

Instead of paint or vinyl, the whole car went into Inozetek Dynamic color PPF in Metallic Light Lavender, a color that had not been released yet. Color PPF changes the color like a wrap, and it is thick, self-healing urethane film like clear PPF, so the new color protects the car too.

A widebody makes it harder. The fender flares, the vents and the rear wing all take heat, patience and careful edge work.

A color change that is also paint protection film.

04 · July 11

The unveil at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour

The car stayed under a cover until the Houston stop of the Hot Wheels Legends Tour on July 11, 2026, at the Walmart on the Northwest Freeway in Cypress. The cover came off in front of a crowd, the first time anyone saw the new color.

05 · Legends Tour

In the backcard

The Houston stop had a giant Hot Wheels card set up for photos, and the lavender GT-R took its turn in front of it.

06 · August 8

On 7-Eleven's life-sized Hot Wheels track

This summer 7-Eleven and Hot Wheels released a 7-Eleven exclusive Hot Wheels Nissan GT-R (R35). At the 7-Eleven x Hot Wheels car meet in Dallas on August 8, Annie's lavender GT-R went up on a life-sized Hot Wheels track.

Next stop is the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, November 3 to 6, 2026.
