Auto Styling for Downtown Houston Drivers
Downtown cars spend their days in parking garages and surface lots. The garage decks are tight, with narrow ramps, concrete pillars and low ceilings. The surface lots have pigeons and trees overhead. Getting in and out means stop-and-go traffic, which leaves brake dust and road grime all over the paint. The shop is close by, just east of you on Navigation.
A lot of what we see from downtown is commuter luxury cars, rideshare vehicles and company fleet cars. They all spend long hours parked somewhere their owners don't control, and most of their miles are slow ones.
Wraps for fleet and commuter cars
If your company keeps cars downtown, a wrap puts your brand on them and keeps the paint underneath covered until you sell or rebrand. See fleet wraps for how that works. For your own car, a full color change in Inozetek vinyl starts at $3,200, and accent or partial wraps start at $900. Details on vehicle wraps for downtown.
PPF for garage ramps and pillars
Garage decks are hard on bumper corners, mirrors and the lower lip of the front bumper. Paint protection film won't stop a dent, but it takes the scuffs and scrapes that would otherwise reach the paint. If your miles are mostly downtown streets, partial front from $995 may be all you need. If you commute in on a freeway, full front from $1,300 makes more sense. Both packages include the mirrors, which are easy to clip on a pillar. See PPF for downtown drivers.
Tint for stop-and-go in the sun
A car in a garage deck stays shaded all day, but the drive home doesn't. Ceramic film, from $400, rejects more heat than carbon, from $300. If you drive rideshare, the back side windows can legally go as dark as you like, which gives passengers some privacy. The front side windows have to stay at 25% or lighter. Ceramic coating for surface-lot parking
Pigeon droppings and tree sap are the downtown paint problem. Both can etch clear coat when they sit in the heat, and a car on a surface lot can sit all day before anyone sees the mess. A coating buys you time: the droppings and sap sit on the coating and come off in a wash. Parked in a garage deck, the car stays out of the sun, which helps a coating last. Brake dust from stop-and-go traffic comes off a coated car with a normal wash too. Ceramic starts at $800 and graphene at $850. More on ceramic coating for downtown.
Getting here from downtown
We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo. From downtown, take Navigation or Commerce east; it's usually about 5 minutes outside rush hour. That makes a morning drop-off easy: leave the car on your way in and take a short ride to the office. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote, so you'll know which evening to pick it up.
