Boat
Wraps
Full colour changes, printed designs and partial graphics on hulls, topsides and outboard cowlings.
Cheaper than a quality respray, faster, and completely reversible — the gelcoat underneath is protected the whole time and comes back untouched when you sell.
What a Boat Wrap Covers
A wrap is not one product — it is a range from a bow flash to the entire vessel.
Most owners arrive expecting to need the full thing and leave with something smaller that does the job.

Full colour change
The whole hull and topsides in a new colour or finish.
What it covers+
Gloss, satin, matte, colour-shift or a printed design. The boat reads as a different vessel, and the original gelcoat is sealed underneath the whole time the film is on.

Partial wraps & graphics
Hull sides, transom, sheer line or a bow flash, without committing to the whole boat.
What it covers+
Often the better answer when the gelcoat is sound and you just want the boat to look current. Costs a fraction of a full wrap and takes a fraction of the time.

Printed designs
Camo, fade, topographic, distressed, scale patterns or fully custom artwork.
What it covers+
Printed on cast film and laminated for UV. This is where a boat gets an identity rather than just a colour — it is the single most common reason owners choose wrap over paint.

Outboard cowlings
The engine covers, matched to the hull or run as a contrast.
What it covers+
The most looked-at branded surface on a powerboat, and the first thing to chalk. Wrapping them alone transforms how the boat reads from the dock.

It comes back off
When you sell, the wrap peels and the original gelcoat is underneath.
What it covers+
That reversibility is worth real money at resale. A repaint is permanent and a buyer either likes it or discounts for it; a wrap is a decision the next owner gets to make for themselves.

Protection while it is on
The film takes the UV, the light scuffs and the waterline staining instead of the gelcoat.
What it covers+
A wrapped hull is a protected hull. Owners who wrap for looks usually keep it partly for what it does to the surface underneath.
Wrap vs Paint vs Leaving It
For a colour change on a sound hull, wrap wins on almost every axis that matters.
Paint still wins where the gelcoat is genuinely failing and needs refinishing rather than covering.
| Wrap | Respray | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Substantially less | The expensive option |
| Time off the water | Days | Weeks |
| Reversible | Yes — peels back to original | No, permanent |
| Protects the surface | Yes, while it is on | No, it becomes the surface |
| Custom designs | Anything printable | Limited and costly |
| Service life on water | Shorter — UV and salt | Longer if done well |
| Best when | Gelcoat is sound, you want a change | Gelcoat is failing and needs refinishing |
Straight Talk
Three things we would rather say up front than after you have paid a deposit.
The first one is the most important thing on this page.
We are an automotive shop moving into marine
Say it plainly: we built our reputation on cars, not boats.
What to know+
The films, the tools and the install skill transfer directly — a compound curve is a compound curve. What we do not have is years of marine-specific history, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you want a shop with a decade of hulls behind it, that is fair. If you want a very good film shop applying the same standard to your boat, that is what this is.
Vinyl has a harder life on the water
Expect a shorter service life than the same film on a garaged car.
What to know+
Constant UV with no shade, plus salt, is the harshest thing you can do to vinyl. We spec cast films rated for it and give you a realistic expectation for how your boat is actually stored, rather than a brochure number.
The hull has to be sound first
Film needs a clean, stable surface. It will not hide failing gelcoat.
What to know+
Heavy oxidation, flaking, or previous repairs that were never faired will all telegraph through a wrap or stop it bonding. If the hull needs correction first we will say so, and it is usually worth doing — see gelcoat correction →.
How It Runs
Nothing gets quoted off a photograph.
Condition and access vary enormously between boats, and both move the number.
Tell us the boat
Make, length, where it lives and what you are picturing. A few photos let us say whether it is worth a visit.
Inspection
Gelcoat condition, existing graphics, previous repairs and access. This is where we say if something is not worth doing.
Design & proof
Artwork laid out on your hull profile, with the registration numbers planned in from the start rather than worked around later.
Written quote
Per vessel, stating whether we work at our shop or your slip — those are different numbers.
Install
Trailerable boats come to EaDo where we control temperature, wind and dust. Larger vessels we do at the marina, weather permitting.
Care sheet
How to wash it, what not to use, and what to expect across a season.
We are in EaDo, about an hour from Kemah, Seabrook and Clear Lake and a straight run to Galveston. Tell us where the boat sits and we will say honestly whether a slip visit makes sense or whether trailering it in gives a better result.
Boat and Hull Wraps FAQ
How much does a boat wrap cost?+
It is quoted per vessel after an inspection. Length, hull condition, how much prep is needed, how complex the design is and whether we work at our shop or your slip all move the number substantially.
What we can say is that a wrap is consistently well below the cost of a quality respray of the same area.
How long does a boat wrap last?+
Less than the same film on a garaged car. Constant UV with no shade, plus salt, is the harshest environment vinyl faces.
We spec cast films rated for marine exposure and give you a realistic expectation for your boat and how it is stored, rather than a best-case brochure figure.
Can you wrap over old graphics?+
No. Old vinyl has to come off first, along with the adhesive underneath, or it telegraphs through the new film and compromises the bond.
Removal is quoted separately because badly weathered vinyl comes off in flakes rather than sheets. We assess it at the inspection.
Will a wrap damage my gelcoat?+
Applied to sound gelcoat and removed properly, no — and it protects the surface while it is on.
The risk is with gelcoat that was already compromised before the film went on. That is exactly what the inspection is for.
Can I still get the registration numbers right?+
Yes, and we design around them from the start. Texas regulates the height, style, contrast and placement, and burying them in a graphic will get you a correction notice.
Do you wrap the outboards too?+
Yes, and it is one of the most worthwhile parts of the job. Cowlings chalk faster than the hull because they sit flat to the sun.
They can be matched to the hull or run as a deliberate contrast. Plenty of owners wrap only the cowlings as a first step.
