How Much Does
Paint Correction Cost?

Paint correction is priced per car — because it depends on how bad the paint is and how many stages it takes to fix. Here's what sets the price, what each stage actually does, and how to get a real number for your car.

Why per car

What Sets the Price

There's no flat rate because no two cars are in the same shape. Your quote comes down to these — and you only pay for the work your paint actually needs.

1

Paint condition

Light swirls polish out fast; deep scratches and years of wash marring take more cutting and time.

2

How many stages

A single-stage enhancement is quicker and cheaper than a multi-stage correction that removes deeper defects.

3

Vehicle size

More panels and bigger surfaces on an SUV or truck take more hours than a compact.

4

The finish you want

Daily-driver clean vs a flawless show finish are different amounts of work — we'll match it to your goal.

What you're paying for

The Correction Stages

"Stages" just means how many machine-polishing steps your paint needs. More stages, more defect removal — and more labor.

StageWhat it doesBest for
Single-stage (enhancement)One polishing step — boosts gloss, removes light swirlsNewer or well-kept paint, best value
Two-stage correctionA cutting step then a refining polish — removes most swirls & light scratchesDaily drivers with visible wash marring
Multi-stage / heavyCompounding and refinement (sometimes wet-sanding) for deep defectsNeglected or heavily marred paint
Where correction shines

Correction makes the biggest difference right before a coating — the coating locks in whatever's underneath. See why to correct before ceramic →

The verdict

Is It Worth the Cost?

Worth it if…

  • You're keeping the car and want it right
  • You're about to ceramic coat — correct first
  • Swirls and scratches genuinely bother you
  • Dark paint that shows every mark

Go lighter if…

  • You're selling soon — a single-stage enhancement may be plenty
  • The paint is already in good shape
  • Budget's tight — start with one stage, add later
Pair it with protection

Paint Correction Cost FAQ

How much does paint correction cost?+

It's quoted per car, because the price depends on how bad the paint is and how many stages it takes. A light single-stage enhancement is most affordable; a multi-stage correction for deeper swirls and scratches costs more, and bigger vehicles cost more than a compact. Send photos or bring it by for an exact number.

Why no flat price?+

Because no two cars are in the same condition. A garaged car with light swirls needs far less work than a daily driver with years of marring. We price by the actual defect level and stages needed, so you only pay for the work required.

Single-stage vs multi-stage — what's the difference?+

Single-stage is one polishing step that boosts gloss and removes light swirls — the value option. Multi-stage adds a cutting step to remove deeper defects before the final polish, so it costs more but transforms neglected paint far more.

Is paint correction worth it?+

If you're keeping the car or about to coat it, yes — correction permanently removes swirls rather than hiding them, and it makes a ceramic coating look its best. If you're selling soon, a lighter enhancement may be the smarter spend.

Does correction add to a ceramic coating's cost?+

It's usually a separate step on top of the coating, because correcting first is extra polishing labor — but it's worth it, since coating over uncorrected paint seals the swirls in for years. We quote correction and coating together so you see the full picture.
