What Actually Changes — and What's Hype
Real: heat & water spots
Graphene conducts heat exceptionally well. A panel that sheds heat faster gives water beads less chance to bake minerals into the coating — the single most common ceramic complaint in Houston. This is the upgrade's headline benefit.
Real: anti-static surface
Less static charge on the cured layer means dust, pollen and lint have a weaker hold. Park outside and you'll notice the difference between washes.
Real, but incremental: longevity
The carbon lattice makes the layer more flexible and slower to micro-mar, and makers rate their pro graphene systems for over 5 years and a harder 10H finish. Meaningful — but a well-prepped, well-kept ceramic already runs years. It's a longer runway, not a different sport.
Hype: "it's not ceramic"
It is. Graphene coatings are ceramic coatings with a materials upgrade — and the word "graphene" isn't regulated, so bargain bottles can wear it too. Judge the system and the installer, not the label.

"Better" is real but incremental; whether it's worth it depends on how long you'll keep the car and where it sleeps.
Is graphene coating worth the extra money?+
Worth it: keeper cars, dark colors, outdoor parking, hard water areas. Skip it: short-term cars, garage-kept queens on a budget — a well-maintained ceramic covers the fundamentals, and the savings often do more good spent on paint correction or PPF. Do graphene and ceramic coatings last the same?+

Can I put graphene coating over PPF?+
Yes — exactly like ceramic, graphene layers over paint protection film beautifully. PPF on the hood, bumper and mirrors with graphene over the film and the rest of the car is our strongest keeper-car build.
Is "graphene coating" just marketing?+
