The basics

What Is Graphene Coating?

A graphene coating is a professional ceramic coating — the same bonded, easy-care protection we describe in our ceramic guide — enhanced with advanced graphene technology, an ultra-thin carbon lattice. It is not a sheet of pure graphene on your car; it's ceramic with a materials upgrade mixed in. Applied the same way, cured the same way, maintained the same way — with the physics tilted in your favor.

01

Same bond

It cross-links with your clear coat exactly like a ceramic coating — a hard, semi-permanent layer, not a wax-style topper that washes away.

02

New ingredient

The graphene layer woven through the coating adds thermal conductivity, flexibility and anti-static behavior the base chemistry doesn't have.

03

Honest label

"Graphene" gets used loosely in car care. Concentration and formulation vary wildly by brand — we install a professional-grade system, not a spray bottle with a buzzword.

The upgrade, itemized

What Graphene Adds Over Ceramic

Fewer baked-in water spots

Water spotting is ceramic's most common complaint in Texas heat: beads sit on a hot panel and etch minerals into the coating. Graphene's carbon lattice dissipates surface heat faster, so manufacturers rate these coatings markedly more water-spot resistant — beads evaporate cooler and cleaner.

Anti-static, dust-shedding surface

Cured graphene coatings carry less static charge than a standard coating, so dust and pollen have a weaker grip on the panel. The car stays cleaner-looking between washes — noticeable if you park outside.

Longer rated lifespan

The graphene systems we install are rated for over 5 years and cure to a harder 10H finish — the toughest in our lineup. Real lifespan still depends on prep, parking and wash habits.

More flexible, less brittle

A standard coating cures hard but can be brittle. The carbon lattice adds flexibility, helping the layer resist micro-marring and hold its slickness as it ages.

Slicker feel, deeper look

A slicker, harder cured surface — water sheets off faster, and dark colors especially pick up a wet, glassy depth.

What Graphene Won't Do

We'd rather you buy the right thing than the expensive thing. The honest limits:

It won't stop rock chips

Graphene or not, a coating is a thin chemical layer. Highway rock chips are PPF's job — the keeper-car move is PPF on the impact zones with graphene over everything.

It won't fix your paint

Coatings are transparent — they lock in whatever's underneath. Swirled or oxidized paint needs correction first, same as any ceramic install.

It costs more than ceramic

The upgrade is real but incremental — better spotting resistance, less dust, longer ratings. On a tight budget, a well-maintained ceramic still covers the fundamentals brilliantly.

The label isn't regulated

Anything with a drop of graphene oxide can print "graphene" on the bottle. What matters is the system and the installer — ask any shop (including us) what product they use and why.

Where it sits

Graphene Coating Pricing

Graphene is the premium tier of our coating lineup: packages start at $850, one step above our $800 ceramic line. The exact number is quoted per vehicle — these factors decide it:

Vehicle size

Sedan vs. SUV vs. truck — more surface area, more material and labor.

Correction needed

Light polish vs. multi-stage correction before the coating goes down.

Coverage

Paint only, or wheels, glass, trim and calipers bundled in.

The stack

Adding PPF to the front end changes the math — and usually makes the most sense on keeper cars.

Graphene Coating FAQ

What is graphene coating?+

A professional ceramic coating enhanced with advanced graphene technology. It bonds to your clear coat like a ceramic and adds graphene's strengths: a harder 10H finish, faster heat dissipation (fewer water spots), an anti-static surface that sheds dust, and rated protection for over 5 years.

Is it actually made of graphene?+

It's not a sheet of pure graphene — it's ceramic chemistry enhanced with graphene oxide, and formulations vary by brand. That's exactly why installer and product choice matter more than the word on the bottle.

How long does graphene coating last?+

The professional systems we install are rated for over 5 years and cure to a harder 10H finish. As with any coating, prep quality, parking and wash habits decide how much of that rating you actually see.

Does graphene coating stop rock chips?+

No — no coating does. It resists chemical etching, UV and fine swirling. For physical impact protection, pair it with paint protection film on the hood, bumper and mirrors.

How much does graphene coating cost in Houston?+

Graphene packages start at $850 (our ceramic line starts at $800). The exact quote depends on vehicle size, paint condition and coverage — free and usually same-day.

Should I get graphene or regular ceramic?+

Keeper car, dark paint, parked outside, or you just want the best we install — graphene. Budget-focused or a shorter-term car — ceramic covers the fundamentals for less. Full breakdown in our graphene vs ceramic comparison.

Do you install graphene coating outside Houston?+

Yes — we're based in EaDo, Houston and travel nationwide for coating, wrap and PPF work. Tell us where the car lives when you request your quote.
