Auto Styling for Heights Drivers
The Heights means old oaks, narrow historic driveways and detached garages at the back of the lot. The oaks drop sap, pollen and acorns on anything parked under them. Backing out of a narrow driveway leaves little room on either side, and where bike lanes narrow a street, passing traffic comes close to parked cars. Getting to us is a short run on I-10.
A lot of what we see from the Heights is trucks, SUVs and restored classics. Some of those classics have paint and interiors that would be hard to replace, so we look closely at the car before we recommend anything.
Wraps for Heights trucks and SUVs
For a truck or SUV, a full color change in Inozetek vinyl starts at $3,200, and it covers the factory paint while it's on. Accent and partial wraps, from $900, are a lighter touch: a roof, a hood or the trim. On a restored or repainted car, we check the paint first, because vinyl needs a sound surface to stick to and to come off cleanly. Details on vehicle wraps in the Heights.
PPF for acorns and tight driveways
A falling acorn can chip paint, and narrow driveways are hard on mirrors and bumper corners. Paint protection film takes those hits. The drive into town is short, so partial front from $995 is often enough, and it already includes the mirrors and headlights. Full front, from $1,300, covers the full hood, full fenders, front bumper, side mirrors and headlights. See PPF for the Heights.
Tint for garage-kept cars and classics
A detached garage keeps the car out of the sun at home, so tint here is mostly about heat and UV on the road. UV is what fades and cracks interiors, and on a classic with an original interior, that matters. Carbon film starts at $300 and ceramic at $400. Ceramic rejects more heat than carbon, which you'll feel on a summer drive. Texas keeps the front side windows at 25% or lighter, measured through film and glass together. Ceramic coating for oak sap
Oak sap and pollen are the Heights paint problem. Sap hardens in the heat and grips bare clear coat, and scrubbing it off by hand does its own damage. On a coated car it releases with a normal wash. If sap has already etched the clear coat, we correct it before coating, since a coating seals in whatever is under it. Ceramic coating starts at $800, and our graphene tier starts at $850.
