Paint Protection Film (PPF) in EaDo — Houston, TX

Paint Protection Film for EaDo Drivers

EaDo is our own neighborhood. Short trips mean fewer highway rock chips than the suburbs see, so here the damage comes from where the car lives: on the street, in surface lots and next to whatever is being built this month.

A lot of what we see from EaDo is enthusiast cars, JDM builds, project cars and daily drivers. Covered parking is scarce, so a lot of them sit on the street or in open lots. That makes paint protection film (PPF) here less about the commute and more about coverage: partial front or full front, plus door edges and the rear bumper if the car lives on the street.

What EaDo does to your paint

Street parking. Cars on the street get brushed and bumped by people squeezing past, and door edges chip when they swing into a curb post or a wall. Film on the door edges and the rear bumper takes that daily wear. Both can be added to a front package.

Construction dust. Dust from building sites settles on every parked car, and wiping it off dry drags grit across the paint. inoCLEAR+, our premium film, has a self-healing top layer, so light swirls from dust and washing fade with heat instead of staying put.

Event nights. When there's a game or a show nearby, the streets fill up and doors swing into whatever is parked next to them. Film won't stop a dent. It does take the paint transfer and light scuffs that would otherwise mark the clear coat.

What it costs

Partial front starts at $995. It covers the full front bumper, part of the hood and fenders, the side mirrors and the headlights, which is where city driving does most of its damage. Full front starts at $1,300 and covers the full hood, full fenders, front bumper, side mirrors and headlights, with no film edge across the hood. If the car stays in town, partial front plus door edges is a sensible start. If it sees the track or long road trips, go full front.

We install Inozetek inoCLEAR, our standard film, and inoCLEAR+, the premium self-healing film. Package diagrams are on the PPF page, and is PPF worth it covers when film is and isn't the right spend. Send photos through the quote form for a real number.

Getting here from EaDo

You're already here. We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd, and from most of EaDo it's usually a few minutes' drive or a short walk. That makes drop-off easy: leave the car, walk home and come back when it's done. The car gets washed and decontaminated, the film is cut to its pattern, and each panel is laid and sealed with heat. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote.

EaDo FAQ

Can I drop the car off and walk home?

From most of EaDo, yes. That's the easy part of being neighbors. We'll tell you when it's ready and when it's safe to wash, which is about 48 hours after install.

Is PPF worth it on a car that stays in the city?

Sometimes not. City driving throws fewer stones than a freeway commute. If the car sees the freeway or the track, film earns its cost. If it mostly sits on the street, door edges and a coating may be the better spend.

I want a new color anyway. Film or wrap?

If you want the color change and chip protection in one layer, look at Color PPF. It changes the color and protects the paint in a single self-healing film, instead of wrapping first and adding clear film later.
