Ceramic Coating in The Woodlands — Houston, TX

Ceramic Coating for The Woodlands Drivers

The Woodlands was built into a pine forest, and the trees are still everywhere: over the streets, the driveways and the parking lots. Pines drop sap and needles through much of the year, and both are hard on paint. Add a long daily run down I-45, and a car from The Woodlands deals with the forest at home and the highway at work.

From The Woodlands we see a lot of luxury SUVs, executive sedans and EVs. Most sleep in a garage, and some spend the workday in covered decks, which helps. The time spent parked under the pines in between is where the damage happens, and that's where a ceramic coating earns its keep.

What The Woodlands does to your paint

Pine sap. Pine sap is thicker and stickier than most tree sap, and it hardens into beads that cling to bare clear coat. Scraping at them scratches the paint, and leaving them lets them etch. On a coated car the sap sits on the coating and comes off with a coating-safe sap remover and a soft towel.

Needle stains. Wet pine needles collect in the cowl, along the windshield and in the trunk seams, and they leach tannins that leave tea-colored stains. Clearing them out often helps. A coating keeps those stains from setting into the paint.

Commute film. The daily miles on I-45 leave road grime and brake dust on the lower half of the car. Mixed with pollen and sap residue from home, it turns into a sticky layer that dulls the finish. A coating keeps it loose enough to wash off.

What it costs

Ceramic coating starts at $800, and the graphene tier starts at $850. For a daily driver that does the I-45 run, the multi-year options make the most sense. The final price depends on the vehicle's size and how much correction the paint needs, and sap that has been left to bake may need extra decontamination first. Send photos through the quote form, and we'll usually reply the same day.

Getting here from The Woodlands

We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo, just east of downtown. From The Woodlands it's straight down I-45, usually about 40 minutes outside rush hour. It's a drop-off job, since the paint is washed, decontaminated and corrected before the coating goes on. It's the longest drive on our list, so plan on one drop-off and one pickup. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote.

The Woodlands FAQ

How do I get pine sap off a coated car?

Gently. Use a coating-safe sap remover and a soft microfiber, and let it soak before you wipe. Don't scrape. If it's been baking for weeks, bring it in and we'll take it off safely.

What if the sap has already etched the paint?

Light etching usually polishes out before we coat. Deep etching may not come out completely, and we'll tell you that honestly from your photos before you book.

I commute on I-45 every day. Which tier makes sense?

A long daily commute is where the multi-year tiers pay off. Graphene, rated for over 5 years with a 10H cured hardness, is the one to compare. We'll lay out both in your quote.
