Ceramic Coating for West University Drivers
West U is a small city of big trees and tight streets. The canopy shades most blocks, and it drops sap onto cars parked along the curb, which is where many of them end up. Street parking is tight, and the alley garages make for sharp turns, so the paint gets the trees above and close quarters down below.
A lot of what we see from West U is luxury family SUVs and first cars for teenagers. Those need different things. The SUV needs to look good with as little upkeep as possible. The teenager's car needs protection from an owner who may not wash it very often. A ceramic coating helps both.
What West University does to your paint
Canopy sap. Sap drips from the street trees in fine droplets that you often don't notice until the car feels sticky. It collects dust, then hardens in the heat. On a coated finish, a wash takes most of it off. On bare paint it needs a remover and patience.
Curbside parking. A car left on the street for hours takes droppings, leaves and the grime thrown up by passing traffic. The longer it sits, the harder the cleanup. A coating keeps that mess on the surface, which makes the next wash easier.
Tight turns. Alley garages and narrow streets lead to scuffs on bumpers and door edges. A coating won't prevent those, and film on the corners helps more. What a coating does is keep the rest of the paint in good shape while you deal with the occasional scuff.
What it costs
Ceramic coating starts at $800, and graphene starts at $850. On a family SUV, the size of the vehicle is the biggest factor, and a teenager's first car may need a bit of correction before it's coated. Send photos of both through the quote form and we'll usually reply with numbers the same day.

Getting here from West University
We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo, just east of downtown. From West U it's usually about 15 minutes outside rush hour, via Kirby and US-59. The car needs to stay with us, since the paint gets prepped and corrected before the coating goes on. With two cars in one family, it helps to schedule them back to back. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote.
West University FAQ
Is it worth coating my teenager's first car?
It can be, especially if they won't wash it often. The coating keeps the paint protected between washes and makes each one easier. It won't stop scuffs from a tight turn, so set expectations.
Can we bring both family cars together?
Yes. Put both in one quote request, and we'll plan the timing with you so you're not left without a car longer than necessary.
Is the canopy sap really that bad?
It depends on the tree. Some drip very little, and others leave a sticky film every day in summer. If your car is sticky after a day on the street, a coating will save you a lot of scrubbing. Parking in the alley garage overnight helps too, since those hours are spent out from under the trees.
