Paint Protection Film for River Oaks Drivers
River Oaks is a short drive from our shop down Allen Parkway, and that drive isn't where River Oaks paint gets hurt. The risk sits in the cars themselves: exotics and luxury flagships that stay in the garage most of the week, then go out on the highway, where one stone can chip paint that has never been touched.
A lot of what we see from River Oaks is exotics, luxury flagships and low-mileage weekend cars in climate-controlled garages. The garage protects them from sun and weather. It can't protect them from the drive, or from the sprinklers and sap on the street out front.
What River Oaks does to your paint
Low front ends. Exotics sit low, and their noses meet the road first. The front bumper and the leading edge of the hood take most of what comes off the pavement at speed. Film there is the difference between original paint and a respray, and even a weekend drive on 610 can put a chip in the nose.
Sprinkler overspray. Irrigated lawns along River Oaks Boulevard and the side streets spray whatever is parked in the driveway. Hard-water spots etch clear coat. On a filmed panel they sit on the film, and a coating over the film helps them rinse away.
Tree sap. Mature trees shade the streets and drip sap onto anything parked under them. On bare paint it bonds in the heat. On film it's easier to clean, as long as you don't leave it there. Pollen joins it in spring.
What it costs
Full front starts at $1,300 and covers the full hood, full fenders, front bumper, side mirrors and headlights, with no film edge across the hood. Partial front starts at $995 and covers the full front bumper, part of the hood and fenders, the side mirrors and the headlights, but it stops partway up the hood. On an exotic, a visible edge across the hood is hard to live with, so full front is the sensible floor. Full body covers every painted panel and is quoted per car.
We use Inozetek film: inoCLEAR as standard and inoCLEAR+ as the premium, self-healing grade. Read full front vs full body for where each one makes sense, and PPF vs ceramic for how film and coating split the work. The PPF page has coverage diagrams. Send photos through the quote form.
Getting here from River Oaks
We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo, just east of downtown. From River Oaks it's down Allen Parkway, usually about 12 minutes outside rush hour. Film on a high-end car takes time: full wash and decontamination, pattern-cut film, then careful laying, heat-forming and edge sealing. Plan to leave the car with us. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote.
River Oaks FAQ
My car has almost no miles. Does it need film?
If it lives in the garage and rarely sees the freeway, a coating may be enough. If it goes on highway drives, even a few times a year, full front keeps the original paint original.
Can the film come off without hurting the paint?
On healthy factory paint, yes. Quality film lifts off in sheets with gentle heat. There's more in can PPF be removed later.
Do sprinkler spots come off the film?
Fresh ones usually wash off. Left to bake for weeks, minerals can mark the film too. A coating on top of the film makes them release much more easily.
