Paint Protection Film (PPF) in Galleria / Uptown — Houston, TX

Paint Protection Film for Galleria/Uptown Drivers

The Galleria and Uptown aren't far from our shop, but Uptown driving is dense: West Loop traffic, Post Oak Boulevard, and multi-level garages everywhere you park. Paint protection film (PPF) here is about the chips and scuffs that come with crowded roads and tight parking.

A lot of what we see from Uptown is luxury leases, exotics and executive fleet cars. Many are valet-parked or sit in a garage deck all day. Leased cars have a specific problem: chips and scuffs on the nose can cost you at turn-in, and film is how you hand the car back clean. Exotics have a different one: a low nose that catches more of the road and paint that's hard to match.

What Galleria/Uptown does to your paint

Lease returns. A leased car gets inspected when it goes back, and chips on the hood or bumper can show up as excess wear. Film keeps the front clean for the length of the lease, so the nose you hand back looks like the one you drove off with.

Valet lanes. Hotel, restaurant and mall valets pack cars close together. Mirrors, door edges and bumper corners touch first. Both front packages include the mirrors, and door-edge film can be added. Film takes light scuffs and paint transfer. It won't stop a dent or a deep gouge.

610 traffic. The West Loop can crawl and then suddenly open up, and following trucks on 610 at speed is where the nose picks up chips, even on a short drive. US-59 adds more of the same on the way into town.

What it costs

Partial front starts at $995 and covers the full front bumper, part of the hood and fenders, the side mirrors and the headlights. Full front starts at $1,300 and covers the full hood, full fenders, front bumper, side mirrors and headlights. For a lease, partial front is a sensible minimum. On an exotic or a car you're keeping, full front is the better floor. Complex bodywork and larger SUVs quote above the starting price.

Films are Inozetek inoCLEAR, standard, and inoCLEAR+, premium and self-healing. The PPF page has coverage diagrams, the PPF cost guide has ranges, and is PPF worth it runs the numbers against a repaint. Send photos through the quote form.

Getting here from Galleria/Uptown

We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo, just east of downtown. From Uptown it's over to US-59 and into town, usually about 15 minutes outside rush hour. Film is a drop-off job: wash, decontamination, pattern-cut film, then laying and sealing each panel. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote, so you can plan around the car.

Galleria/Uptown FAQ

I'm leasing. Is PPF worth it?

If you drive the freeway or park in tight garages, usually yes. Film keeps the nose free of chips for turn-in. On a short, low-mile lease, partial front is usually enough. If the lease includes plenty of freeway miles, go full front.

Can the film come off before I return the car?

Yes. Quality film lifts off healthy factory paint cleanly with gentle heat. Ask your leasing company if they want it on or off at turn-in.

Can the film move to my next car?

No. Film is stretched and heat-formed to one car, and it doesn't come off in reusable shape. The next car gets fresh film cut to its own pattern.
