Window Tint in Pasadena — Houston, TX

Window Tint for Pasadena Drivers

Pasadena runs along SH 225 and the Ship Channel, and a lot of what we see from here is work trucks, fleet vehicles and lifted pickups. Plenty of them park in a driveway, an open lot or a yard, with nothing overhead all day.

SH 225 runs east and west. Anyone driving east at sunrise or west at sunset has the low sun sitting right at the end of the road. Texas keeps the windshield clear below the AS-1 line, so up front you're limited to a strip across the top. The side glass is where tint does most of its work.

What Pasadena does to your glass and cabin

Yard parking. A truck parked in an open yard takes sun on every window from morning to quitting time. Ceramic film rejects far more infrared than dyed film, so the cab is less of an oven at the end of the day. Our top ceramic film rejects up to about 88% of infrared heat.

Lifted trucks, same rules. A lift puts you higher off the road, but the tint law doesn't change. The front doors need 25% or more, film and glass combined. The back side windows can be any darkness, and so can the rear glass, as long as there are outside mirrors on both sides.

Broken glass on the job. If a side window gets broken on a job site, the film's adhesive layer helps hold the glass together and cuts down on loose shards in the cab. It won't stop a rock, but it makes the cleanup smaller.

What it costs

Carbon starts at $300 on a sedan, ceramic at $400, and nano ceramic at $550. A crew-cab truck has more glass than a sedan, so it prices higher. Send it through the free quote form and we'll usually come back with an exact number the same day.

Tiers and the install process are on the window tint page. The Houston tint cost guide puts the films side by side, and ceramic tint vs regular tint explains why cheap dark film still runs hot.

Getting here from Pasadena

We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo, just east of downtown. From Pasadena it's a short run west on 225, usually about 15 minutes outside rush hour. Most jobs are done in a few hours, so you can drop the truck off in the morning and have it back that afternoon. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote.

Pasadena FAQ

The box says 35%. Why does the meter read darker?

The meter reads the film and the factory glass together, and factory glass alone usually passes only 70 to 80% of the light. Put 35% film on 75% glass and the meter reads about 26%. We quote the net number on your glass, not the label on the box.

Can I go darker up front for a medical reason?

Texas allows it with a signed statement from a licensed physician or optometrist saying darker tint is medically necessary. There's no state sticker; the statement rides in the glovebox. It covers darker front side windows and a darker windshield band only, never below the AS-1 line.

Can police pull me over just for tint?

Yes. In Texas, tint that looks darker than the legal limit can be the reason for a stop on its own. The officer's meter reading through film and glass is what counts, with a 3% variance. The Texas tint law page has the limits window by window.
