Paint Protection Film (PPF) in Pasadena — Houston, TX

Paint Protection Film for Pasadena Drivers

Pasadena is close, and the drive in is on 225. But 225 runs through the refinery and ship channel corridor, and it's busy with heavy trucks. Paint protection film (PPF) is a clear layer on the front of the vehicle that takes the gravel those trucks kick up.

A lot of what we see from Pasadena is work trucks, fleet vehicles and lifted trucks. They park in driveways, open lots and yards, out in the sun all day. A short drive means fewer freeway miles than a suburban commute, so the question here is less about the commute and more about where a truck actually takes damage.

What Pasadena does to your paint

225 truck traffic. Heavy trucks on 225 drop gravel and grit on the lanes. Even a short run puts the bumper and hood in that spray every day, and one good hit is enough to chip bare paint.

Lifted trucks and yard parking. Bigger tires throw more gravel at the rockers, the lower doors and the area behind the wheels, and unpaved yards make it worse. On a lifted truck those zones can take as much damage as the nose.

Plant fallout. Airborne particles from the plants settle on everything and bond to clear coat in the heat. Film keeps them off the paint it covers, but film doesn't fix fallout. Regular decontamination and a coating do. We'd rather tell you that than sell you the wrong thing.

What it costs

On a short commute, partial front from $995 is a fair place to start. It covers the full front bumper, part of the hood and fenders, the side mirrors and the headlights, which is where most hits land. Full front from $1,300 covers the full hood, full fenders, front bumper, side mirrors and headlights. On a lifted truck, adding the rocker panels may do more good than moving from partial to full front. Trucks price above the starting numbers because of their size.

There are two films: Inozetek inoCLEAR, standard, and inoCLEAR+, premium and self-healing. See the truck PPF page for the zones trucks lose first, the PPF page for package diagrams and the PPF cost guide for ranges. Photos through the quote form get you a real number.

Getting here from Pasadena

We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo, just east of downtown. From Pasadena it's a short run in on 225, usually about 15 minutes outside rush hour. Even close by, film is a drop-off job: wash, decontamination, pattern cutting, then laying and sealing each panel. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote, and we'll tell you when it's safe to wash.

Pasadena FAQ

My truck is lifted. Where should the film go first?

The nose first, then the rocker panels behind the front tires. With big tires, that second zone takes a beating. We'll look at how the truck is set up and tell you what's worth covering.

Does film help with the fallout from the plants?

Only on the panels it covers, and it still needs washing and decontamination. The whole-vehicle answer is a coating plus regular decon. The ceramic coating page explains how that works.

Can the film come off when I sell the truck?

Yes. Quality film lifts off healthy factory paint cleanly with gentle heat. Leaving it on is fine too, since a clean front end helps the sale.
