Paint Protection Film for Baytown Drivers
Baytown's road into Houston is I-10, the East Freeway. It's an industrial corridor with heavy truck traffic from one end to the other, and the front of anything driving it takes the spray. Paint protection film (PPF) goes over the paint on the front of the vehicle and takes the gravel that traffic throws.
A lot of what we see from Baytown is work trucks and industrial fleet vehicles. They tend to park in open lots and driveways rather than garages. That means two problems at once: chips from the road, and refinery fallout and salt air sitting on the paint. Film handles the first one. We'll be straight with you about the second.
What Baytown does to your paint
Truck traffic on I-10. Heavy trucks shed gravel and road debris, and anything following them takes the spray. On the East Freeway that's most of the drive. The bumper, grille surround and hood edge catch it first, then the mirrors.
Work lots. Plant lots and yards aren't always paved. Tires throw gravel at the rocker panels and lower doors, and the damage shows up as a sandblasted band behind the front wheels. Rocker panels can be filmed as an add-on.
Fallout and salt. Refinery fallout and salty air settle on every exposed surface. Film keeps them off the paint it covers, but it doesn't clean itself. Regular decontamination washes and a coating do more against fallout than film does.
What it costs
Partial front starts at $995 and covers the full front bumper, part of the hood and fenders, the side mirrors and the headlights. Full front starts at $1,300 and covers the full hood, full fenders, front bumper, side mirrors and headlights. For a daily I-10 run behind trucks, full front is what we'd recommend. Work trucks price above the starting number because of their size, and rockers are quoted on top.
We install Inozetek inoCLEAR as the standard film and inoCLEAR+ as the premium, self-healing film. The truck PPF page shows where trucks lose paint first, and PPF vs ceramic explains why a Baytown truck may want both. Package details are on the PPF page. Photos through the quote form get you real numbers.
Getting here from Baytown
The shop is at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo, just east of downtown. From Baytown you come west on I-10, usually about 30 minutes outside rush hour. Film isn't done while you wait. The truck gets washed and decontaminated, the film is cut to its pattern, and each panel is laid, heat-formed and sealed. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote, so you can plan around the truck being gone.
Baytown FAQ
Is PPF worth it on a work truck?
If you're keeping it, usually yes. Film keeps the nose and rockers clean, and that matters at resale. If you're trading it in soon, it may not pay off, and we'll tell you that.
Will film keep refinery fallout out of my paint?
On the panels it covers, fallout lands on film instead of clear coat. It still has to be washed and decontaminated off. For the whole truck, a coating plus regular decon is the better answer.
Can you quote several company trucks at once?
Yes. Send the year, make and model of each truck and the coverage you want, and we'll quote them together. If the trucks run the same routes, the same coverage usually makes sense for all of them.
