Ceramic Coating for Montrose Drivers
Montrose has some of the heaviest tree cover inside the Loop, and a lot of cars spend their nights under it. Narrow driveways and on-street parking put the car right beneath the branches, where it collects sap, pollen and bird droppings. Droppings are the worst of the three. They're acidic, and on a hot day they can etch clear coat in a matter of hours.
The cars in Montrose are as mixed as the neighborhood. A lot of what we see is vintage cars, EVs and restored classics, sometimes parked on the same block. Each needs a different approach. An EV's paint takes a coating like any modern car, while original paint on a vintage car needs a careful look before anyone polishes it.
What Montrose does to your paint
Bird droppings. Birds roost in the big trees along the side streets, and anything parked below gets hit. The acid starts working as soon as it lands, and summer heat speeds it up. A coating puts a barrier between the acid and the clear coat, so you have time to clean it off before it leaves a mark.
Sap spots. Sap falls as small droplets that harden into amber dots. On bare paint they're stubborn, and picking at them scratches the finish. On a coated panel they soften and lift with much less effort.
Curbside grime. Cars parked along Westheimer and the busier side streets catch spray and road film from passing traffic, heaviest on the side facing the street. A coating keeps that film from bonding, so it rinses off.
What it costs
Ceramic coating starts at $800, and graphene starts at $850. The number depends on the car's size and how much correction the paint needs. Dropping marks that haven't etched deep usually polish out, and we'd rather fix them before coating than seal them in. On vintage paint, we'll tell you if a lighter polish, or none at all, is the better call. Send photos through the free quote form, and we'll usually reply the same day.

Getting here from Montrose
We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo, just east of downtown. From Montrose it's usually about 10 minutes outside rush hour, via Westheimer or Allen Parkway. Plan to drop the car off, since the prep and correction happen before the coating goes on. With a drive this short, getting back home is easy. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote.
Montrose FAQ
Can you coat an EV?
Yes. EV paint gets the same process as any modern car. Tell us the model when you ask for a quote, and if you're also thinking about film or tint, we can price them together.
How fast do I need to get bird droppings off?
As soon as you reasonably can. On bare paint, one hot afternoon can leave a mark. A coating stretches that window, but it's still worth keeping a quick detailer and a clean microfiber in the car.
Does a coating help with pollen?
It helps with the cleanup. Pollen still lands, but it doesn't grip a coated surface the way it grips bare clear coat, so a rinse moves most of it. During the worst weeks of spring, that makes a real difference.
