Window Tint for Cypress Drivers
US-290 runs northwest out of Houston, so the drive home to Cypress heads toward the evening sun. Plenty of Cypress commutes add the Grand Parkway on top of that. A lot of what we see from Cypress is trucks and three-row SUVs, which means a lot of glass and a lot of passengers sitting next to it.
Those vehicles usually spend the night in a two- or three-car garage. The heat piles up during the day instead, in an open lot at work or while you run errands. Tint won't make an August afternoon pleasant, but good film takes a real bite out of what comes through the glass.
What Cypress does to your glass and cabin
The drive home on 290. Late in the day the sun hangs low over the Northwest Freeway and comes in through the windshield and the driver's door. The windshield stays clear below the AS-1 line and the front doors can't go darker than 25%, so your money is better spent on the film than on the shade. Ceramic rejects far more heat than dyed film at the same legal darkness.
Three rows of glass. A three-row SUV has more side windows than most cars, and whoever rides in the way back sits right against them. Texas puts no darkness limit on the back side windows. The rear glass can go as dark as you like too, as long as the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides. The rest of the rules are on our Texas tint law page.
Dark in back, clear up front. Plenty of trucks and SUVs leave the factory with dark glass behind the front doors and clear glass up front. Tinting just the front two windows closes that gap. They can go as dark as 25% and no darker, so they may not match the factory glass in back exactly. We'll hold real film against your glass so you can see it first.
What it costs
Sedan pricing starts at $300 for carbon, $400 for ceramic and $550 for nano ceramic. Trucks and three-row SUVs have more and bigger windows, so expect a higher number than a sedan. Send the vehicle through the free quote form and we usually answer the same day.
The window tint page explains each film. The window tint cost guide covers what moves the price, and ceramic tint vs regular tint shows why the upgrade matters in this heat.
Getting here from Cypress
We're at 5002 Navigation Blvd in EaDo, just east of downtown. From Cypress it's 290 into town, usually about 35 minutes outside rush hour. Most installs are finished the same day, so plan on dropping the vehicle off in the morning and picking it up later. You'll get a firm timeline with your quote.
Cypress FAQ
Does a full tint include the third row?
Yes. A full tint covers every side window plus the rear glass, so the third-row windows are part of it. That extra glass is why a three-row SUV costs more than a sedan.
Will darker film keep the truck cooler?
Not by itself. Heat rejection comes from what the film is made of. A light ceramic film can keep a cab cooler than a dark dyed one, and it won't fade to purple. Go darker for privacy. Go ceramic for heat.
How long before I can roll the windows down?
Give it three to five days. The adhesive needs that long to cure, and rolling a window down early can lift an edge. A little haze or a few small water bubbles in the first days is normal and clears on its own.
